It’s still very early for solid information about the OnePlus 16, as the phone isn’t expected to arrive until sometime in Q4 2026. That means you should treat everything you’re about to read as preliminary and subject to change. Even so, the first round of rumoured specs paints a picture of a seriously ambitious flagship.
Display and performance
According to the leak, the OnePlus 16 will feature a flat BOE X5 OLED display with a 1220p resolution and an eye‑watering 240Hz refresh rate. That would put it among the fastest smartphone screens on the market, at least on paper.
Inside, OnePlus is reportedly going with a Pro variant of Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon Elite Gen 6 chipset. This top‑tier SoC is rumoured to reach clock speeds of up to 6GHz, which, if accurate, would be a big leap in raw performance. The chip is reportedly paired with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for fast multitasking and app loading. Expansion via microSD, however, is apparently off the table, as the storage is expected to be non‑expandable.
Battery and charging
Battery life might be another major talking point. The OnePlus 16 is tipped to include a huge 9,000 mAh battery, far larger than what we see in most flagships today. Charging should be equally impressive, with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging being mentioned in the leak. If those numbers hold, you can expect very short top‑up times.
Camera setup
The camera system also sounds quite bold. The leak suggests that OnePlus will use two 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensors: one acting as the primary camera and the other serving in a periscope telephoto role. That combination could provide both high‑detail shots and strong zoom performance.
There’s also talk of a new ultrawide camera joining the setup, but there are no concrete details yet on its resolution or sensor type.
Other features
A few smaller hardware tidbits were also mentioned. The OnePlus 16 is expected to come with an Ultrasonic 2.0 under‑display fingerprint scanner for biometric security, dual coaxial speakers for stereo sound, and a 0916R vibration motor, which should help deliver more precise haptic feedback.
As always with early leaks, these specifications could change as we get closer to launch. Still, even if most of this proves accurate, the OnePlus 16 is shaping up to be a powerhouse device.
