The next generation of high-end display technology, Dolby Vision 2, has been unveiled by Dolby Laboratories. It enhances the visual quality of movies, TV shows, live sports, and video games.
Redesigned Image Engine: All kinds of content now have sharper images and more detail thanks to the new Dolby Image Engine.
AI-Powered Content Intelligence: Adapts settings based on the viewing environment and automatically optimises picture quality for each scene.
Precision Black Technology: Maintains the artistic intent of the creator while improving visibility in dimly lit areas.
For consistent image quality, adaptive light sense modifies contrast and brightness in response to ambient room lighting. Motion control and colour optimisation, specifically designed for live sports broadcasts and gaming, are examples of improvements in sports and gaming.
Advanced Tone Mapping: Bi-directional tone mapping delivers brighter highlights, deeper contrast, and richer colours.
Authentic Motion Control: Minimizes motion stutter on individual scenes, delivering fluid and lifelike cinematic playback.
Dolby Vision 2 is available in two tiers, designed to cater to both premium and mainstream televisions.
Dolby Vision 2 Max: Designed for high-end televisions, providing enhanced features to utilise premium display hardware fully.
Dolby Vision 2: Available on standard TVs, delivering essential next-generation improvements powered by the updated image engine and AI-driven Content Intelligence.
