According to Microsoft, the next major Windows update will be Windows 11 version 24H2, which will come with artificial intelligence-powered experiences. Windows Insider Blog posted the news about the new Preview Build. According to the confirmation, Windows 12 is not the next Windows update.

According to the post, Windows 11 will continue to receive feature updates on an annual basis. The versioning will be updated under Settings > System > About (and winver) to version 24H2 starting with Build 26-xx today.

Microsoft has never officially discussed Windows 12’s existence. It was primarily based on statements from Qualcomm and Intel executives. The release of Windows 12 is not expected any time soon, as things stand now.

Next-generation AI experiences will be the main focus of Windows 11 version 24H2. In the coming months, more details about these AI experiences should become available. As the next major frontier in the world of technology, Microsoft’s decision to invest heavily in AI is a natural one.

Microsoft has an edge over its rivals, such as Google, which has dominated the search and internet business for decades. Last week, Google itself rebranded Bard AI as Gemini and launched a paid plan in response to Microsoft and OpenAI’s AI ambitions.

In the second half of the year, Windows will receive its next major update. Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26052 introduces sudo command support for command-line users. Improvements have been made to hearing aids and different processing modes can now be tested on mic audio.
