We’re eager to see what OnePlus has in store for its successor, the OnePlus 15, since the business produces some great Android flagships, and the current generation OnePlus 13 meets all the requirements. The company recently announced that it is developing its own DetailMax Engine for photography and that it has ended its cooperation with Hasselblad. Both good and bad news have been revealed in the latest leaks of the OnePlus 15’s camera specs.
According to Leaker Digital Chat Station, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera may be included with the OnePlus 15. This camera could have an f/2.8 aperture and an equivalent focal length of 85mm.
Depending on the primary camera’s focal length, we should expect an optical zoom of around 3.5x to 3.7x with that corresponding focal length. The periscope telephoto camera is therefore likely to have a larger zoom factor. If the quality is preserved or enhanced, this would be excellent for framing at greater distances; nevertheless, the OnePlus 15’s aperture value is smaller.
If you were satisfied with the OnePlus 13’s 3x zoom, the OnePlus 15’s smaller f/2.8 aperture would essentially be a downgrade.
According to a tweet from OnePlus Club, an organisation unrelated to OnePlus, the OnePlus 15 will cost “significantly less” since the business has eliminated the majority of the expensive parts. Given that the iQOO 13 was the best-selling phone in China, reportedly surpassing the realme GT 7 Pro and the OnePlus 13, the article also suggests that the phone is designed for “ultra-performance.”
Whether the post is a leak or merely conjecture is unclear. It’s worth noting, however, that other rumours suggest OnePlus has reduced some of the excess associated with the OnePlus 13.
