The world’s most popular headphones will reach a whole new level with the release of Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 today. The AirPods Pro 3 boasts superb sound quality and the world’s greatest in-ear Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), capable of blocking up to twice as much noise as the original AirPods Pro and four times as much as the prior version.
With a larger sound stage and enhanced noise reduction, Apple is improving the audio quality of the AirPods Pro 3. According to Apple, the AirPods Pro 3 will provide the “best ANC in the world” because of its foam-infused ear tips, which improve noise isolation. According to Apple, these will “deliver the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones” and have double the ANC of the previous iteration of AirPods Pro.
The heart rate sensor on the AirPods Pro 3 may be the most significant improvement. The AirPods Pro 3 employ Apple’s tiniest heart rate sensor, a proprietary photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor that “measures light absorption in blood flow by illuminating invisible infrared light pulsed at 256 times per second.”
The sensor tracks heart rate, activity, and calories burned by utilising the AirPods Pro’s accelerometers, gyroscope, GPS, and a new on-device AI model on an iPhone. The iPhone fitness software, Training Buddy, offers a revolutionary training experience that tracks workout statistics and fitness history using Apple Intelligence.
Additionally, Apple is updating the AirPods Pro 3 with a new live translation capability. ANC will play it back to you in your native tongue while lowering the speaker’s loudness. “Live Translation, when enabled, enables users to speak naturally with AirPods and comprehend another language,” says Apple. “There is an option to use an iPhone as a horizontal display, showing the live transcription of what the user is saying in the other person’s preferred language, to interact with someone who does not have this hands-free capability.”
Additionally, Apple is enhancing the fit of the AirPods Pro 3 in users’ ears. Apple claims to have reduced the size of each AirPod Pro after analysing over 10,000 3D ear scans. There are now five sizes of ear tips, and the design is intended to fit within the ear canal more comfortably. With IP57 sweat and water resistance, Apple has even improved the durability of the AirPods Pro 3.
The AirPods Pro 3 will be available for preorder today for $249, and shipment will begin on September 19.
