Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets have always been used in Samsung’s foldable phones. With this year’s Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung could use its Exynos chipset for the first time.

According to a new South Korean report, Samsung has decided to use the Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy Z Flip7. Additionally, mass production of this device is scheduled to begin next month. Powered by an Exynos chip, it would be Samsung’s first foldable device.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 was expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, but Exynos 2500 was still rumored late last year. Samsung Foundry’s yield issues forced it to opt for the Snapdragon chipset over this chipset for the Galaxy S25 series.

The Snapdragon chipset was also spotted in some Galaxy Z Flip7 prototypes, further confirming that the next clamshell foldable will be all business. Samsung, however, has decided to use the Exynos 2500 for this device, according to Korean media.

The Exynos 2500’s estimated yield range of 20-40% will work for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as it ships in lower volumes than the Galaxy S series, despite the yields not being above 60%.
