In a recent leak, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed the launch date for Qualcomm’s next flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. It will succeed the original Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that was launched in October last year.
Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 at the end of September, according to the tip. The first devices featuring the new chip will launch in October, he said. Qualcomm’s move could pose a direct challenge to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is expected to appear in September. Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro are rumored to be the first phones to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
Other devices expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 include the Redmi K90 Pro, the Realme GT 8 Pro, the OnePlus 14, the iQOO 14, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. In the first half of 2026, the Ultra variants are expected to launch.
According to reports, it will use second-generation Oryon CPU Cores, increasing performance by about 25%.
It is also reported that the GPU’s independent cache will increase from 12MB to 16MB, resulting in an overall performance increase of approximately 30%. The chip will also support LPDDR5X and LPDDR6 RAM.
