The Snapdragon 8 Gen series might be getting a new processor from Qualcomm. There is no Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 rumored recently. According to rumors, it may be a lighter version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

In a recent Weibo post, Digital Chat Station shared details about a new chip called SM8625. The chip likely belongs to the Snapdragon 8 series, despite the tipster not sharing the chip’s official name.

The chip is equipped with a 2.9GHz ARM Cortex X4 core and an Adreno 735 GPU, according to leaked information. It also has an AnTuTu score of over 1.7 million, according to the tipster. Based on this score, the SM8635 would outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It might be a lite version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

According to Roland Quandt, another leaker, Qualcomm is developing two similar chips – the SM8635 and SM7675. It is unclear where the SM8635 fits within the Snapdragon lineup.

Digital Chat Station previously stated that the “SM7675” is the most powerful Snapdragon 7+ chipset.

A number of smartphone models are rumored to be equipped with the SM8635 chip despite its uncertainty. There will be the Poco F6, Redmi Note 13 Turbo, and an iQOO Neo-series phone, all of which will use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
