Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset at the Snapdragon Summit 2023 a few hours ago. Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi Group President and President of the International Department showcased the real Xiaomi 14 series device during the event. Xiaomi has also unveiled a couple of posters revealing the Xiaomi 14’s display specifications.

There will be two versions of the Xiaomi 14, with the standard being a compact version of the larger Pro model. Xiaomi 14 series features a flat display instead of the curved-edge screen of the predecessor series. On the back of the phone, the glass edges curve a bit more, which enhances the overall feel and ensures a comfortable grip.

Xiaomi 14 is available in four colors: black, white, green, and pink. The Pro variant will also be available in three colors, excluding pink. Both smartphones will debut tomorrow (Oct. 26) as the world’s first smartphones with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Additionally, the 14 series will be the company’s first smartphone to feature its own HyperOS operating system overlaid on Android 14.

As a result of a collaboration between Xiaomi and TCL, the Xiaomi 14 will feature the Huaxing C8 display. Xiaomi 14’s 6.36-inch display supports 1.5K resolution, 1Hz to 120Hz LPTO adaptive refresh rate, and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It consumes 17 percent less power than its predecessor.
