The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s latest generation of flagship mobile processor. Several smartphone brands announced that their premium phones would feature this top-notch chipset soon after it was unveiled. It is confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform will be used by OnePlus’s OnePlus 12.

Processor:

On a teaser poster for its upcoming flagship phone, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer showcased a new Qualcomm chip. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is built on a 4nm process node, which improves power efficiency and performance. It promises a 30 percent increase in processing power and a 25 percent improvement in power consumption, according to the chipmaker.

 

In addition, the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) has seen a 98 percent increase in performance. In comparison to its previous generation, the new GPU is 25 percent faster and supports Ray Tracing technology, which is 40 percent better. Thus, the OnePlus 12 will include enhancements across the board. It is also the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform.

Display:

The OnePlus 12 will feature a 6.82-inch OLED panel with a 2K resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and a 1Hz–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The OnePlus 12 is shown above from the front.

With a DisplayMate A+ rating and 18 records, OnePlus Oriental Screen has been recognized as one of the world’s top 2K displays. It supports HDR, features new LTPO technology, and offers improved color accuracy with a JNCD value of 0.35. This allows colors to appear more accurately. With a peak brightness exceeding 2600 nits, it consumes less power and provides good outdoor visibility.

Specs:

OnePlus 12 will ship with the same 6.82 inches (3216 x 1440 p) 2K LTPO 3.0 AMOLED  2.75D flexible curved display. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. It comes with a center punch-hole notched display this time.

The OnePlus 12 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC coupled with 8GB/16GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space. It features triple rear cameras which are been customized by Hasselblad.

It features a 50MP main Sony IMX966 sensor with OIS coupled with a 64MP telephoto lens and 3x optical zoom. There is a 50MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide lens with LED flash. This time there is a massive 32MP selfie shooter.

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, and 5G Dual Mode (SA/NSA) support. Wi-Fi 7, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port and 1216 Linear Speaker, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio certification.

It comes with an IP54 rating making it dust and water-resistant. The device packs a 5400 mAh battery with 100W fast wired & 50W fast wireless charge support. It runs on Android 14 With ColorOS 14 on top.
