Samsung plans to offer longer security updates to its smartphones.

It looks like Samsung is considering going a step further when it comes to software updates. For its flagship smartphones, it currently offers 4 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates. Samsung may now consider extending support for security updates beyond the current 5-year period, according to a new report.

SamMobile interviewed Samsung’s Principal Engineer and Technical Program Manager of the Security Team for the Mobile eXperience division at the Samsung Developer Conference, and he revealed that the company is discussing ways to extend its long-term security support beyond five years.

The vision aligns with Samsung’s goal of supporting devices for longer, and it is also preparing to extend its current 5-year support period in light of new regulations.

SamMobile notes, however, that Samsung won’t offer major platform updates for more than five years. Currently, the company is only considering expanding its security update support. Even if your device doesn’t receive a major Android update, it will still receive security updates.

Even Samsung’s budget smartphones receive regular software updates, making it one of the few Android smartphone brands that offer them. Every month, the company manages updates for more than 1 billion devices.

Samsung might delay the launch of the Galaxy Ring, will arrive with many features.

According to the Korean publication The Elec, Samsung’s Galaxy Ring will be unveiled in either Q3 2024 or Q1 2025 instead of January 2024 with the Galaxy S24 lineup.

According to the publication, the Samsung Galaxy Ring’s design has not been finalized and it supports multiple features, but it is too large to be commercialized. As many features as possible will be implemented into the Galaxy Ring while Samsung reduces its size.

Furthermore, Samsung is developing a Galaxy Ring model that will come in four sizes instead of just one. Several companies have collaborated on the development of the Galaxy Ring, including Doosung Tech and Korea Seongjeon.

According to the source, Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Ring along with the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 in Q3 2024. That would only be possible if Samsung does not apply for medical device certification for the Galaxy Ring, which could take months. This could delay the launch until Q1 2025 if it happens.

It is also reported that Samsung is considering a Galaxy Ring that can work with extended reality (XR) and mixed reality (MR) devices.

Google’s upcoming flagship Pixel 9 series will sport a larger display, details leaked.

The spotlight has already shifted onto Google’s next big thing just days after the launch of its Pixel 8 series, according to reliable tipster Ross Young. It was recently revealed that the Google Pixel 9 series will sport larger displays than their predecessors, according to Young’s tweet.

The Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch screen, while the newly released Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch screen. According to Young’s tweet, Google is considering enlarging the display area for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and even the next Pixel Fold. It comes from Young’s latest “Advanced Smartphone Report,” a document that has proven accurate in predicting smartphone trends in the past.

What is the reason for Google’s preference for bigger displays? The growing demand for larger screens that facilitate better multimedia experiences may be one answer. When it comes to streaming videos, playing games, or multitasking, a bigger screen generally makes life easier. It seems logical for Google to follow the lead of its competitors with larger displays as well.

However, this move raises questions about ergonomics and user-friendliness. What is the impact on one-handed usability if the display is larger? How long does the battery last? It remains to be seen how Google will address the problem of bigger screens consuming more power.

Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ & Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature premium Titanium frames, likely to ship with Exynos 2400 SoC for India.

Titanium frames were introduced last month in place of stainless steel in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. If the latest rumor regarding Samsung’s Galaxy S24 family is true, the novelty won’t last long.

A tipster over at X (formerly Twitter) claims the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will all feature titanium frames. All three of them have already been seen in leaked CAD renders, which showed very flat frames. According to one prior rumor, the S24 Ultra would be the only titanium-clad model. According to this rumor, Samsung will not discriminate among its high-end devices.

This is just an unconfirmed rumor for now, so take it with a grain of salt. Ice Universe replied to the original post you can see above, stating that only the Ultra will receive titanium treatment. It’s possible, but it’s also possible not to. For a better idea of what to expect, let’s wait for some more rumors and leaks.

Further, there is another leak claiming that the Galaxy S24 & Galaxy S24+ will likely be powered by Exynos 2400 SoC for India & European regions. Yes, the source claims that the alleged Galaxy S24 model was spotted on Benchmarks running with an Exynos 2400 SoC.

By product and sales region, Samsung plans to install both Exynos and Snapdragon Galaxy S24 APs. Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are powered by Samsung Electronics’ System LSI Division’s ‘Exynos 2400’ processor. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 3rd generation for Galaxy will also be installed in Samsung Electronics smartphones. The Qualcomm variant of the Galaxy S24 series will be exclusive to China & US. But the source confirms that Galaxy S24 Ultra will be getting Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC across the globe.

Apple to launch new iPad 11, iPad Mini 7 & iPad Air series in coming months, details leaked.

Apple is currently developing several new tablets, which will be available in the near future. They are all scheduled to launch with iPadOS 17 before next September when Apple will release iPadOS 18 for supported devices.

The timeline is not very clear, but the models we can expect are more clear. In the first place, we have a new iPad mini with the same design as the last one, but with a newer internal system.

Additionally, there will be two iPad Airs, one of which could be a plus-size model or one with a higher-end specification than the ‘vanilla’ iPad Air. Likewise, the design is expected to be similar to the current iPad Air.

The entry-level iPad is next. In the 11th generation, the design will remain the same, but the chipset will be upgraded. The new iPad Pro with M3 chip will also be available in two sizes.

As much as it makes sense given that this isn’t coming straight from Apple, there will also be a new Magic Keyboard. As opposed to the current Magic Keyboard, this keyboard will make your iPad look more like a laptop, and it will be made of aluminum instead of plastic. There will also be a larger trackpad and some new sensors, including an accelerometer. Unsurprisingly, this should be revealed alongside the new iPad Pro tablets.
