The OnePlus 15 has only just begun its market journey, but the rumor mill is already shifting its focus to what comes next. According to early leaks, OnePlus is preparing a notable camera upgrade for its next flagship, the OnePlus 16.
Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claims the OnePlus 16 will feature a 200MP camera sensor. This tidbit follows an earlier leak from the same source about the upcoming Oppo Find N6, which is also expected to include a 200MP telephoto camera.
Digital Chat Station suggests that the Oppo Find N6 and OnePlus 16 will continue Oppo and OnePlus’ trend of sharing camera hardware. Both devices are rumoured to use the same main and telephoto sensors, just as the Oppo Find N5 and OnePlus 15 did before them. Those two phones launched with matching 50MP main cameras (Sony LYT-700) and 50MP telephoto modules (Samsung JN5).
As for timing, the OnePlus 16 is believed to be targeting an October 2026 debut. That’s still a long way off, leaving plenty of room for more leaks and confirmations regarding its camera setup and other specifications.
With so much time before launch, details are likely to evolve, but if these early reports hold, the OnePlus 16 could represent one of the brand’s most significant camera upgrades in years.
