OnePlus’ upcoming Turbo series is shaping up to be more than a China-only experiment. While the lineup is set to debut in its home market next month, fresh leaks now suggest that at least one model will roll out globally, with India specifically mentioned among the launch markets.
The device in question recently surfaced on Geekbench, revealing that it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. That alone puts it comfortably in upper mid-range / near-flagship territory, but the rest of the rumoured spec sheet is just as intriguing.
The phone is said to feature a hefty 9,000 mAh battery, paired with 80W wired fast charging. On the front, an OLED display with a so‑called “1.5K” resolution and a fluid 165Hz refresh rate is expected, underscoring OnePlus’ continued focus on high-refresh panels.
Interestingly, the handset is reportedly codenamed “Volkswagen,” which hints at its strategy and positioning: a performance-focused phone aimed at a broader audience rather than a niche, ultra-premium crowd. On the back, the Turbo model is rumoured to carry a dual-camera setup, though exact sensor details have yet to surface.
For now, there’s no clear timeline for when the global version will appear on shelves. More concrete information will likely follow after the official Chinese launch, which is scheduled for January. Once the Turbo series is unveiled in its home market, expect further leaks and announcements to clarify OnePlus’ rollout plans for international buyers.
