Samsung’s upcoming mid-range duo, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57, is edging closer to launch, with an announcement expected in February 2026. Alongside refreshed processors, both phones are set to receive notable camera upgrades, and a new leak now sheds light on the detailed imaging hardware Samsung plans to use.
Galaxy A37: familiar setup with a stronger primary camera
The Galaxy A37 is tipped to arrive with a triple rear camera system, but the star of the show will be an overhauled primary sensor. According to the report, Samsung is moving to a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera for this model.
As with some previous Galaxy A-series phones, the exact sensor may vary by market. In certain regions, Samsung is expected to swap out the Sony sensor for its in-house 50MP ISOCELL S5KGNJ instead.
Beyond the primary shooter, the other rear cameras should look very familiar. The two secondary modules are said to be largely carried over from the Galaxy A36:
- An 8MP GalaxyCore GC08A3 ultrawide camera, aimed at capturing wider group shots and landscapes
- A 5MP GalaxyCore GC05A3 macro camera for close-ups
On the front, selfie duties are reportedly handled by a 12MP GalaxyCore GC12A2 sensor, which should offer a modest bump in clarity over older A-series front cameras.
Galaxy A57: higher-resolution ultrawide, same 50MP main
The higher-tier Galaxy A57 is also expected to use a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor as its primary rear camera, with the same regional option to switch to the Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNJ in some markets.
Where the A57 pulls ahead is in the supporting cameras. The leak points to the following rear setup:
- 50MP main camera (Sony IMX906 or ISOCELL S5KGNJ, depending on region)
- 13MP ISOCELL S5K3L6 ultrawide camera, offering a higher resolution than the A37’s 8MP ultrawide
- 5MP GalaxyCore GC05A3 macro camera, mirroring the macro unit on the A37
Selfies on the A57 are expected to be handled by a 12MP ISOCELL S5K3LC front-facing camera, which should pair well with Samsung’s software tuning for portraits and social media shots.
A-series continues to lean on camera upgrades.
Taken together, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 seem set to refine Samsung’s mid-range formula rather than radically reinvent it. The focus this time appears to be on upgrading the primary camera sensor and improving the ultrawide experience on the A57, while keeping the familiar macro modules and the overall triple-camera layout.
With both phones also rumoured to bring newer chipsets and other incremental hardware updates, Samsung’s 2026 A-series could offer a more capable photography package for users who don’t want to spend flagship-level money.
