Samsung’s next big book-style foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold8, is expected to land in the summer of next year, and early leaks are already painting a clearer picture of its camera setup.

According to the latest report, the main camera won’t change on paper: Samsung is said to stick with the same 200MP primary sensor used on the Galaxy Z Fold7. While that might sound like a repeat, the real upgrades are coming from the supporting cameras.

The telephoto camera is reportedly being bumped to 12MP with 3x optical zoom, up from the Fold7’s 10MP zoom shooter. That may not look dramatic at first glance, but it should translate into sharper, more detailed zoom shots in everyday use.

A bigger step forward is expected on the ultrawide side. Samsung is rumored to bring over the 50MP ultrawide camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. If this pans out, it would be a notable upgrade from the Fold7’s 12MP ultrawide unit, promising cleaner images, better detail, and improved low-light performance.

Not everything is changing, though. Both selfie cameras are said to remain the same, at 10MP each. That includes the cover display selfie camera and the under-display one on the inner screen, so users shouldn’t expect a big leap in self-portraits or video calls.

For now, that’s all the information this leak reveals about the Galaxy Z Fold8. More details about its design, performance, and battery are bound to surface as we get closer to launch, and we’ll share those as they appear.
