The Galaxy S26+ was rumored to be discontinued by Samsung next year, replacing it with the Galaxy S26 Edge, which will launch alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Pro.
A new report from Korea offers some theoretical breaking news – it appears that the Galaxy S26+ may be released after all. It’s because the Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t selling well.
Accordingly, Samsung is beginning to develop the Galaxy S26+ since it assumes its successor won’t do much better. Several industry sources in Samsung’s home country have confirmed this.
The S25 Edge’s production has declined significantly since June, the month following its launch. Most smartphones sell best in their first three months of availability, so this is a bad sign. Samsung’s production forecast indicates that the Galaxy S25+ is outselling the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung might be losing money if it replaces the S26+ with the S26 Edge and things stay the same, even though the Edge costs a little more.
