According to a leak earlier this month, the Realme GT 8 Pro could have a round camera module. An image shared later by a reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, revealed a slightly different design for the camera. Realme has today confirmed that the Realme GT 8 Pro will indeed feature a swappable camera design.

The GT 8 Pro will feature a detachable camera module that users can swap or rearrange. Three shapes are shown in Realme’s preview video: a round one, a square one, and an irregular “robot-inspired” design.

The new approach introduces a hands-on element, letting users personalise the look of their devices beyond the usual round or rectangular cut-outs. In addition to this design innovation, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, dubbed the “Ultra Eye”, is expected to be included in the GT 8 Pro. However, there is no information available about the device’s other camera sensors.

The Realme GT 8 Pro is reportedly expected to launch with a 2K 144Hz AMOLED screen developed in collaboration with BOE, featuring Q10+ material for enhanced brightness and eye protection. The official details mention a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Realme’s R1 display chip, described as a “dual-chip” arrangement for enhanced gaming and visual performance, will be paired with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 to power the device.

Realme GT 8 Pro packs a 7,000mAh+ battery with 120W wired charging. The device also includes stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
