Since the May launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, there have been numerous rumors that the Galaxy S26 Edge, which will join the S26 and S26 Ultra in January of next year, will take the place of the Plus model in Samsung’s lineup.
According to a recent rumour from the well-known Chinese leaker Ice Universe, we can anticipate some intriguing changes from the upcoming Edge. Specifically, it is rumoured to have a larger battery and be even thinner than its 5.8mm predecessor.
The use of “new battery material technology” will enable the development of larger cells. This may immediately bring Si/C to mind, and it may or may not; we’ll have to wait and see.
In any case, it’s encouraging to learn that Samsung is addressing the primary problem with the S25 Edge in its successor. While the device’s 3,900 mAh battery certainly allows it to be as thin as it is, it doesn’t make it a very dependable device for daily use.
