With its upcoming flagship, Xiaomi may be going all out. Some of the main features and specifications of the forthcoming Xiaomi 16 Ultra have been leaked. With significant improvements in photography and battery capacity, this model may offer substantial enhancements over its predecessors.

There will be significant changes to the cameras, according to a tip from Kartikey Singh on X, and Weibo rumors have indicated what some of these upgrades might entail. Three of the Xiaomi 16 Ultra’s rear cameras are being upgraded. Its primary camera will feature a sizable 1-inch sensor with 50MP of resolution. This may be a new sensor that has been updated, but it sounds exactly like the primary camera of its predecessor.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra was a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a sensor size of 1/1.4 inches. However, with a larger 1/1.28-inch sensor, this is reportedly going to get bigger on the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. For comparison, the sensor size of the primary camera on the iPhone 16 Pro Max is comparable. For zoomed shots, we can anticipate improved clarity and low-light performance.

Finally, a 50MP 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor—larger than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 1/2.76 ultra-wide camera—could be included in the ultra-wide-angle lens. With leaks indicating a huge capacity that could range from 7,000mAh to 7,500mAh, we already know that a battery size increase is planned. Stay tuned for more updates as the Xiaomi 16 Ultra’s official launch is still a ways off.
