For quite some time, Samsung has been rumored to add an Ultra variant to its Fold series, and now we have the first official teaser. The device will be launched later this year, along with the vanilla Z Fold7, the clamshell Z Flip7, and the Z Flip7 FE. In early July, Samsung is rumored to unveil its new foldable devices at an in-person event in New York.

The teaser shows the Z Fold7 Ultra with a slim profile. How slim is that? The Z Fold 6 is 5.6 mm thick when unfolded, and the Z Fold Special Edition is 4.9 mm thick. Furthermore, Samsung promises a best-in-class camera on the Ultra, which is quite a claim, given the excellent camera on the vivo X Fold3 Pro.
It’s not exactly surprising that the Z Fold Ultra exists. Last year, the Z Fold6 generation was supposed to happen, but it didn’t. Late in October, Samsung announced the Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea, aka Samsung W25 in China, with an 8-inch primary screen and 6.5-inch cover screen, a 200MP main camera, and 16GB of RAM.
Galaxy Z Fold7:
With the Z Fold7 series, Samsung is going Ultra, but we also know that a vanilla Fold7 is in the works. New Geekbench listings reveal what is believed to be the global variant of the Z Fold7 (SM-F966B).

Because these are pre-production devices, their scores may vary. According to the first listing, Fold7 scored 1,916 single-core points and 5,231 multi-core points. The device has an eight-core chipset and a 3.36GHz prime core.
The second listing shows higher numbers with 2,896 and 9,226 points. The Fold7 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite for Galaxy chipset with 12GB RAM. Samsung’s new crop of foldables will run Android 16 with One UI 8.
