The Galaxy S26 series was rumoured to be revealed by Samsung in February 2026 and to go on sale in March. According to a new report, the launch could take place sooner than expected.
In a report from South Korea, Samsung has moved the Galaxy Unpacked date back to late January next year, with sales expected to begin in early February.
In addition, the report confirms earlier rumours that the Galaxy S26 lineup will include the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chips will power the Ultra model, while the base and Plus models will use the Exynos 2600.
Due to poor sales, the Galaxy S26 Edge model remains cancelled. In the three months following its launch, the Galaxy S25 Edge sold only about 1.3 million units, 74% fewer than its Plus counterpart.
According to most reports, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series won’t bring an exciting camera upgrade. All three Galaxy S26 phones (S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra) will feature a 10MP IOCELL sensor, according to Ice Universe’s latest report.
Specifically, it has a 10MP 1/3.94-inch ISOCELL with a 1.0μm pixel pitch, and a 36°, f/2.4 lens. As a relatively mediocre imager, the Galaxy S25 and S25+’s 67mm f/2.4 camera fits that description perfectly. Digital zoom performance isn’t improved, and pixel binning isn’t available.
On the camera side, the Galaxy S25 series were a bit of a snooze fest – the Ultra model got a higher-res, but not larger 50MP sensor, while the vanilla and Plus models kept the identical camera setups.
