Samsung displayed its tri-fold smartphone at the 2025 K-Tech Showcase event, although it wasn’t quite released as predicted yesterday. At the Samsung stand, the device—which still lacks an official name—was visible behind a protective glass display case. It was forbidden for attendees to handle or touch the equipment.

ChosunMedia from South Korea posted pictures of the gadget, showing both its folded and fully unfolded forms. Because it has two hinges that enable it to extend its display diagonally up to 10 inches, we refer to it as fully unfolded. Like the Galaxy Z Fold7, when the phone is fully folded, it reduces to a 6.5-inch diagonal for simpler one-handed use.

Although we already had confirmation that the tri-fold smartphone will be released this year, Samsung regrettably did not provide any further details. Samsung is reportedly producing as few as 50,000 units of the Galaxy G Fold or Galaxy Z TriFold (placeholder names) during its initial production run, meaning the device will have a limited launch run.

According to earlier rumours, the device’s specifications include a triple camera configuration, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, and a weight of about 298g. It will be offered in a few places, such as China, South Korea, the US, and the UAE, and is anticipated to retail for about $2,800.
