When the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is released in January 2026, it may offer a minor but significant upgrade, featuring a slightly larger screen that fits in the same space. Samsung’s lead in the flagship race may be strengthened by design changes and display enhancements, according to a recent leak.
Tipster @UniverseIce revealed on X on July 17, 2025, that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a 6.89-inch AMOLED screen, which is slightly larger than the 6.86-inch panel found on the S25 Ultra. Samsung is reportedly avoiding making the phone wider than its 77.6mm frame by reducing the bezels to just 1.15mm, down from 1.2mm on the current model, to accommodate this increase. The result is a display that feels even more immersive.
According to reports, the screen will make use of Samsung’s Colour Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) OLED technology, which is the same technology used in the Galaxy Z Fold7. The panel may be thinner, brighter, and use less power if the polariser is removed and a colour filter and black pixel definition layer are used instead. Even without an increase in battery size, that might help prolong battery life.
