Google has formally confirmed today that it will host its grand presentation event for the Pixel 10 family on August 20, as has been rumoured since early June.
We’ll never know if Google changed its mind and rescheduled the event by precisely one week, as we’ve heard whispers, but the company hasn’t said whether it had originally selected August 13. However, as is often the case with Google rumours (and particularly the Pixel line, which seems unable to quit leaking), the ‘new’ date itself was valid.
At the event on August 20, we anticipate the release of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel Watch 4, possibly accompanied by the Pixel Buds 2a.
Along with their ultrawides, the phones should all have macro capabilities incorporated into their telephoto cameras. They should also accept “Pixelsnap” magnetic accessories, but only through cases; it appears that the magnets won’t be integrated into the phones themselves, like the iPhone. Otherwise, the Tensor G5 SoC—Google’s first, which TSMC will manufacture rather than Samsung—would power the entire range.
