There was a report a while back that the next iPhone 17 will use the same Apple A18 processor as the one that came before it. As it happens, Jeff Pu, an analyst at GF Securities, is now reversing his earlier assertion and anticipating that the iPhone 17 will be equipped with the brand-new Apple A19 processor, which will also power the iPhone 17 Air.
It appears that the basic iPhone 17 will not have extra RAM if that was also your wish. According to Pu’s most recent rumor, the smartphone would once again include 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It is anticipated that the other two iPhone 17 series models will have 12GB of RAM, while the 17 Air will have the same LPDDR5 speeds. Faster LPDDR5X RAM will be available for the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max in the meantime.
There are also rumours that Apple’s in-house Wi-Fi 7 chip will be included in the whole iPhone 17 series. However, it won’t be of the LTPO sort (known as ProMotion in Apple parlance), like the Pro series; the vanilla variant is anticipated to boast a larger 6.3-inch OLED and possibly a 120Hz refresh rate. According to the most recent rumour, Apple is scheduled to introduce the iPhone 17 series on September 8.
