At their launch event in China, Xiaomi and Redmi announced a wide range of devices, making today a significant day for both companies. Featuring a massive 7,410mAh battery that can be charged at 100W and a Dimensity 9400+ chipset, the Redmi K80 Ultra is the latest flagship killer device in the series. Joining it is the Redmi K Pad, a compact tablet featuring a 7,500mAh battery, an 8.8-inch IPS LCD display, and a Dimensity 9400+ chipset.

Redmi K80 Ultra:

The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition sports a smaller 6.83-inch 1.5K (1280 x 2772p) OLED (C7) display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also gets 12-bit colours, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 2600-nits brightness. It features an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition features the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC, which is paired with a discrete graphics chip called the D2. The display chip supports 3x interpolation up to “1.5K resolution” (read 1080p) to drive 144Hz content. During gaming, the chip reduces power consumption by nearly 15%. There is also a special 3D cooling chamber that can reduce the temperature by 3°.

The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will be available with 12GB, 16GB, or 24GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage options. It also includes a PixelWorks X7 display chip.

Redmi K80 Ultra features a 50MP OV Light Fusion 800 sensor with OIS support. It also has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Under the punch-hole notch, it features a 20MP Sony IMX596 selfie shooter.

The connectivity options include a Dual SIM with 4G LTE and 5G support, NFC, an IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, and a USB Type-C port with an X-axis linear motor. It runs on HyperOS 2 with Android 15 OS pre-installed. The device arrives in  Spruce Green, Ice Blue, Moon Rock White, and Sandstone Grey colours. It measures 8.18 mm in thickness and weighs 219 g.

Redmi K Pad:

Xiaomi’s new Redmi K Pad features an 8.8-inch 3K LCD panel that supports a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The display features a 16:10 aspect ratio and supports Dolby Vision. It also has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Dimensity 9400+ SoC powers it with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of UFS 4 flash memory.

The Redmi K Pad features a 13MP camera on the back with autofocus, as well as an additional 8MP Selfie camera on the front. The device weighs 326 grams and measures 6.4mm in thickness. It features a 7,500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Four Dolby Atmos-certified speakers play back the audio. The Redmi K Pad has Android 15 OS with HyperOS 2 on top. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C 2.0. To provide an immersive gaming experience, the Redmi K Pad tablet may also have dual X-axis linear motors, dual speakers, and dual USB-C ports (3.0). Additionally, bypass charging is anticipated to be supported, which lowers heat during gameplay.
The Redmi K Pad will be available in Smoky Purple, Spruce Green, and Deep Black.
