Although the Xiaomi 16 is a few months away from official release, new Chinese leaks provide further details. A recent leak from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has disclosed some of the Xiaomi 16’s primary specifications, building on last week’s initial renderings.

The source claims that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which has not yet been revealed, would power the Xiaomi 16. Xiaomi will probably be the first company to release Qualcomm’s next flagship processor in a phone when it is unveiled in September.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 16 will include three 50-megapixel cameras: a telephoto with macro capability, an ultra-wide, and a 1/1.3-inch primary camera.

Additionally, the battery is abnormally massive for a non-Pro model. According to the leak, it has a capacity of around 6,500mAh, significantly increasing over the Xiaomi 15’s 5,400mAh.

The panel is anticipated to be a 6.3-inch flat OLED screen with extremely small bezels on all four sides. It will run Android 16 on Xiaomi’s forthcoming HyperOS 3.0.

The design is another critical component. Similar to what is anticipated for the iPhone 17s, the Xiaomi 16’s dual-tone rear panel is seen in the leaked renderings. However, the overall design isn’t much different.

Following Qualcomm’s announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, Xiaomi may release the 16 series in Q4 2024. According to this source, the Xiaomi 16 Pro would altogether avoid the international market, while the vanilla variant will be available in China and worldwide.
