According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is preparing the Galaxy S25 FE, the fifth model in its S25 lineup, for a late 2025 launch. According to the source, this Fan Edition smartphone with model SM-S731B will run Android 16-based One UI 8, aligning with the company’s upcoming foldable devices.

The Galaxy S25 FE is shaping up as an affordable alternative to Samsung’s flagship S25 series, launched in January 2025. The S25 FE is codenamed R13 and has the model number SM-S731B, carrying on the FE lineage from the S23 FE (SM-S711B/S721B). The release is anticipated for September or October of 2025, likely in Q3 or Q4 of that year.

While the S25 trio uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the S25 FE will stick with the Exynos 2400e, the same chip powering the S24 FE. Samsung is likely sticking with the 2400e for now because the Exynos 2500 (and its 2500e variant) are not yet ready. Although its performance is respectable, its power efficiency is inferior to that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

With the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, One UI 8 is expected to debut in July, featuring revamped apps and AI-powered video summaries. Due to the S25 FE’s later launch, the software will be included with the device.
