Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset, which will replace Snapdragon 8 Elite. Leaks from Digital Chat Station provide insight into its expected launch timeline and manufacturing process.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to be released earlier than usual in early October 2025, according to Qualcomm. As part of Qualcomm’s trend of advancing Snapdragon Summit dates, this earlier launch gives smartphone manufacturers more time to integrate the new chipset into flagship devices before the holidays.

TSMC’s N3P node will be used for the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. It’s similar to Apple’s A19 chips, which are also rumoured to use this node, but with better performance and power efficiency.

According to the leak, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will have a significant GPU upgrade and a 20% boost in CPU performance. Adding to the efficiency and GPU improvements already seen in the Snapdragon 8 Elite, these improvements should provide a meaningful performance boost.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 adoption may be hindered by reports that it will be even more expensive than its predecessor. For the new chipset to be competitively priced, Qualcomm is reportedly optimizing its manufacturing process and supply chain.
