OnePlus delays the launch of its next foldable aka OnePlus Open 2, key specs leaked.

Fans of OnePlus might be disappointed by next-generation devices from Samsung, Motorola, and others while the foldable phone market continues to heat up. The OnePlus Open 2 won’t be released this year, according to reliable tipsters.

OnePlus Open 2, the follow-up to the well-received first-generation device, will launch in 2025. As a disappointment to those who were looking forward to a 2024 release, the Open 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.

Official announcements of the 8 Gen 4 are likely to happen later this year (October-November 2024). China might see the first phones with this chip as early as December.

Most Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 devices will launch globally in the next few months. It is unclear whether the Open 2 falls into this category.

OnePlus Open 2 has very little concrete information at this point. Details are likely to remain scarce for some time. Oppo’s foldable phones have traditionally been rebranded by OnePlus for the global market.¬†As a result, the Open 2 will likely be the rebrand of the Oppo Find N5, just like the original Open mirrored the Oppo Find N3 last year.
