According to a new rumor based on supply chain sources, Apple is planning several upgrades for the iPhone 16 Pro series. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max both come with larger displays, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively. In addition, both phones will have Micro Lens Array (MLA) OLED panels, which should provide better brightness and viewing angles than conventional OLED panels.

This generation of iPhone 16 Pro will come with Apple’s A18 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM. There is also the option to upgrade the storage to 2TB, up from 1TB on previous iPhones.

The new leak confirms previous leaks regarding exclusive AI features on the 16 Pro models, and we might also see some integration with Apple’s recently launched MGIE AI. It is rumored that both phones will get a 48MP ultra-wide lens and that the smaller Pro will finally get a 5x tetraprism lens.

According to sources, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max may have the best battery life of any Pro model. With a 4,676 mAh battery, the 16 Pro Max is expected to outlast the 15 Pro Max’s 4,441mAh battery. The new chipset may also help the 16 Pro Max reach the longest battery life among all iPhones.

In addition to the smaller size, the 16 Pro is expected to have a larger battery than its predecessor. The prototype has a 3,355 mAh (13.02Wh) capacity cell housed in a metal bracket for better heat dissipation.

The new phones will also come with a Capture button, and Apple claims to have reduced costs per casing while improving titanium processing yields.
