Samsung unveiled the Galaxy AI and Galaxy S24 series of smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung teased a smart ring called the Galaxy Ring at the end of the event. There was no significant information revealed by the brand.

What did Samsung say about the Galaxy Ring? The company describes it as a “cutting-edge” device and as “a powerful and accessible health and wellness device here to change the shape of future health as only Samsung can.” Samsung Research clinical research scientist Matthew Wiggins announced the device.

The Galaxy Ring’s teaser suggests that it could be black. The Galaxy Ring’s technical details and availability will be announced later this year by Samsung. The smart ring will compete with Evie and Oura.

During the second Galaxy Unpacked event this year, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable phones. The Galaxy Ring may go official with the new foldable.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy Ring may support EKG and smart home controls. Samsung’s first smart ring will support tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness, and sleep-related information, according to a patent filing seen in February 2023. Samsung may also include AI features in its first smart ring.
