In October, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro smartphones. There have been whispers for a while now that there will be an “Ultra” variant of the phone. It has been leaked in new hands-on images even though Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed its existence.

These photos were likely taken during an early camera test when the phone was concealed in a protective case. On the lower right side, there is a visible camera bump with a periscope lens, which obscures the overall design.

According to these images, this phone shares the same frame with the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Vivo X100 Pro. One of the most interesting details comes from a white label on the back of the phone.

The markings “N1,” “P2,” and “EU” provide cryptic clues. In Xiaomiui’s view, “N1” corresponds to the expected model number for the Leica-branded flagship, further supporting the theory that this is indeed the 14 Ultra. “P2” indicates that this is a prototype, an early iteration not yet finalized, whereas “EU” suggests it may be a global version for the European market.

The camera module itself remains largely concealed, but we can expect the familiar round design with four lenses.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYT 900 with OIS) with variable aperture, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. In addition to the main sensor, there will be a 50MP telephoto lens, another 50MP periscope lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.

It is also possible that the 14 Ultra could be upgraded with a titanium frame. This will replace the aluminum used in the regular 14 Pro. The phone may also support two-way satellite communication and a 5180mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities.

In April 2024, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 14 Ultra with the Xiaomi Pad 7 series.
