The OnePlus Watch 2 is a premium smartwatch that OnePlus is preparing to launch. In the coming weeks, the smartwatch will launch alongside the OnePlus 12 flagship smartphone. In collaboration with popular tipster @OnLeaks, MySmartPrice has leaked renders of the OnePlus Watch 2.
OnePlus is staying true to its design philosophy in the renders. Like its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2 has a circular dial with a metal chassis and strategically placed buttons for easy UI navigation. It comes with black and white rubber straps. Aside from the renders, the report also confirms some of the device’s key specifications.
Specs:
OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, ensuring smooth performance and responsiveness. Several essential sensors and a charging connector are tucked under the display for added health features.
OnePlus is sticking with its custom RTOS-based operating system despite the exciting features of the OnePlus Watch 2. The Watch 2 could potentially be reduced to a glorified smart band or fitness tracker, which might be a deal-breaker for some. OnePlus faces stiff competition in a market where many smartwatches use Google’s WearOS platform.
OnePlus Watch 2 will run Wear OS 4 according to reliable leaker Max.
The WearOS operating system offers a wide range of features like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store. The app supports a wide range of third-party apps and is compatible with Android and iOS devices. RTOs, on the other hand, is a lightweight operating system that delivers an intuitive smartwatch experience while maintaining a low cost. The app support is limited and is usually found in fitness-oriented smartwatches.
The specs listed below are early leaks, so keep an eye out for official confirmation and take this information with a grain of salt.
