Redmi Pad was launched in India in October 2022 by Xiaomi. The device is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. According to Kacper Skrzypek, Xiaomi is working on a successor to the Redmi Pad. The complete specifications and renderings of the upcoming device have been revealed by Spanish media, Kimovil. It is also confirmed in the Xiaomiui report that the device will be launched globally. Xiaomi will also launch the device as the Redmi Pad SE, according to the report.

Design:

According to the Spanish media, the upcoming tablet will have a similar design to its predecessor. Renders show a large display with huge bezels on all sides. There is a significant difference between the two tablets in terms of the layout of the rear camera. As opposed to the two camera rings of the original Redmi Pad, the upcoming tablet will only feature a single camera ring.

On the bottom of the upcoming tablet, we can see a dual speaker grille, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-type C port. On the top of the device, there is another dual speaker grille and a power button. The Spanish media outlet revealed that the device will include Dolby Atmos support in another render. On the right side, there are volume rockers and a SIM card tray. The front camera is also located on the large chin of the display.

According to a Xiaomiui report, the tablet will be codenamed Xun. It was previously reported that the upcoming device would run Android 13 on GeekBench. The device will be powered by MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. MIUI servers have already uploaded the global firmware for the upcoming device. The report indicates that the latest internal build of the upcoming tablet has the version number MIUI-V14.0.1.0.TMUMIXM and V14.0.1.0.TMUEUXM.

The tablet is expected to be released in conjunction with the Xiaomi 13T series smartphones. The device is likely to be priced below the original Redmi Pad.

Xiaomi’s new Redmi Pad SE comes with an 11-inch LCD panel that supports 1200 × 1920 pixels and offers a refresh rate of 90Hz. It features a brightness of 400 candelas and a 10-bit color depth.

It is powered by the SD680 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 flash memory. There is an 8MP camera on the back with autofocus & 5MP selfie shooter.

 

There is an 8000 mAh battery on the Redmi Pad SE, which should last for at least a day. The device comes with 18W fast charging support, but Xiaomi will offer a 22W fast charger in the retail box. The device weighs 445 grams and is 7.1 millimeters thick.
The audio is played back by four Dolby Atmos-certified speakers. Android 13 is used in the tablet version with an adapted MIUI interface.
