Redmi Pad was launched in India in October 2022 by Xiaomi. The device is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. According to Kacper Skrzypek, Xiaomi is working on a successor to the Redmi Pad. The complete specifications and renderings of the upcoming device have been revealed by Spanish media, Kimovil. It is also confirmed in the Xiaomiui report that the device will be launched globally. According to the Spanish media, the upcoming tablet will have a similar design to its predecessor. Renders show a large display with huge bezels on all sides. There is a significant difference between the two tablets in terms of the layout of the rear camera. On the bottom of the upcoming tablet, we can see a dual speaker grille, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-type C port. On the top of the device, there is another dual speaker grille and a power button. The Spanish media outlet revealed that the device will include Dolby Atmos support in another render. On the right side, there are volume rockers and a SIM card tray. The front camera is also located on the large chin of the display.

According to a Xiaomiui report, the tablet will be codenamed Xun. It was previously reported that the upcoming device would run Android 13 on GeekBench. The device will be powered by MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. MIUI servers have already uploaded the global firmware for the upcoming device. The report indicates that the latest internal build of the upcoming tablet has the version number MIUI-V14.0.1.0.TMUMIXM and V14.0.1.0.TMUEUXM.

The tablet is expected to be released in conjunction with the Xiaomi 13T series smartphones. The device is likely to be priced below the original Redmi Pad.
