On May 10th, Google is set to unveil its mid-range offering, the Pixel 7a. Zing News’ latest hands-on leak shows off the phone’s design in all its glory.

Design:

With its square design and sharp edges, the device looks almost identical to recent Pixel phones. All corners of the Pixel 7a have symmetrical bezels and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera in the center.

At launch, the phone will be available in Black, but there may be other colors as well. According to one of the leaked images, the phone will come with 8GB of LPDDR5 Samsung RAM and 128GB of internal storage, along with a 6GB version. On the top portion, there is a secondary microphone for noise cancellation, and on the bottom edge, there are two speaker vents and a USB Type-C port. You can see the power button and volume rockers on the right edge.

Specs:

The Pixel 7a will feature an OLED panel measuring 6.1 inches and a 90Hz refresh rate, Roy tweeted.

This handset is powered by the Tensor G2 SoC manufactured by Samsung and Google. The same processor powers the flagship Pixel 7 series as well. A further boost to performance is provided by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

There will be a dual rear camera setup on the upcoming smartphone. It is expected that the primary sensor will be a 64MP Sony IMX787 and a 12MP ultrawide lens will be the secondary sensor. Sony’s IMX787 CMOS Exmor RS image sensor can capture brilliant low-light shots with a high dynamic range. We can expect the front camera to have the same 10.8MP lens as its more expensive siblings – Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Stock Android 13 is said to be loaded out of the box on the Pixel 7a. The leak indicates that the handset will support 5W wireless charging.
