Gurman said in his newsletter today that customers will be able to choose from 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max screens for iPhone 15 series. Gurman previously suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro Max might be named iPhone 15 Ultra, following the Apple Watch Ultra.
In place of the notch on previous iPhone models, Dynamic Island replaces the pill-shaped area at the top of the display. Dynamic Island changes shapes and sizes according to Live Activities, system alerts, and other information. According to Gurman, Ross Young previously claimed the Dynamic Island would be available on all four iPhone 15 models.
According to Gurman, all four iPhone 15 models will have USB-C ports instead of Lightning ports. In comparison to Lightning, USB-C is a more universally accepted charging standard and offers faster data transfer speeds.
Gurman also confirmed rumors that iPhone 15 Pro models will feature titanium frames with haptic volume buttons. The device would use two new Taptic Engines instead of physical buttons, similar to the iPhone SE’s Home button and newer MacBook trackpads.
As usual, Apple will announce the iPhone 15 series in September.
