Apple has quietly introduced the AirPods Max 2, keeping the same design as the 2020 original but upgrading the internals. The new model now uses Apple’s H2 chip, which powers 1.5x more effective active noise cancellation and unlocks Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Live Translation.

Other upgrades include Bluetooth 5.3 and a new high‑dynamic‑range amplifier for cleaner, more detailed sound. There’s also a handy camera remote function that turns the Digital Crown into a shutter button.

Battery life is still rated at up to 20 hours with ANC on, and charging is done via USB‑C, which also supports 24‑bit/48 kHz lossless audio with the right setup.

The AirPods Max 2 come in Midnight, Starlight, Orange, Purple, and Blue and are priced at $549 / €579 / £499 / ₹67,900. Pre-orders start March 25, with shipments expected in early April.
