CEO Lei Jun announced Xiaomi’s second foldable smartphone at his annual speech earlier this week. Despite the fact that Xiaomi has yet to comment on the Mix Fold 2’s availability outside of China, it certainly looks impressive.

Design:

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 features a different rear panel design than its predecessor. Leica branded three sensors are housed in a horizontal camera module. When unfolded, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a thickness of 5.4mm. It measures 11.2mm when folded. Around 262 grams weigh the device.

Specs:

With an outer display of 6.5 inches and a 120Hz refresh rate, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 offers an FHD+ resolution and a Samsung E5 AMOLED panel. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Upon unfolding the device, the interior Eco OLED screen measures 8.2-inches with a 2.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. An under-display camera and ultra-thin glass are also featured on the interior display. A 1,000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, and TrueColour are all supported by both the interior and outer displays.

A Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor will power the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. Besides 12GB of RAM, it has a storage capacity of 1TB. Powered by a 4,500mAh battery, the foldable smartphone supports fast charging at 67W. It runs MIUI 13-based Android 12 out of the box.
There is a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with a 2x zoom. It can record 8K videos as well as Dolby Vision HDR videos. The right side of the foldable smartphone is home to the volume rocker and power button. Goodix’s fingerprint scanner can also double as a key fob.
