Xiaomi upcoming flagship the Xiaomi Mi 7 is all set to launch anytime next month.Earlier we had found the device to feature wireless charging support. Now as per a report by XDA Developers and FunkyHuawei they have found that the two new firmware files of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 7.
As per the report, the Xiaomi Mi 7 two firmware files are codenamed as Dipper and Dipperold. The DipperOLD is the scrapped firmware of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 7. The difference between the two firmware is a fingerprint scanner. The dipper firmware files have mentioned that the fingerprint scanner is made by FPC and Goodix which we generally found on any Xiaomi smartphone whereas the DipperOLD firmware files have mentioned only Goodix sensor the Goodix_fod which is nothing but the finger on display or under display fingerprint scanner.
The original MIUIkeyguard app also mentions that upcoming Xiaomi Mi 7 might feature under display fingerprint scanner which was also found in the firmware files. Now Xiaomi has scrapped the Dipper firmware files as per reports and the new firmware is named as DipperOLD which will have a regular fingerprint scanner.
So Xiaomi has either ditched the plan of adding the in display fingerprint scanner or might be launching the new feature on a future smartphone.
