Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might ship with 8nm chipset.

Samsung today officially made an announcement about the 2018 lineup of Exynos SoC.Earlier we had got some rumours about Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to be powered by the 7nm chipset and also we Samsung had officially launched the next Exynos 9810 which is built on second gen 10nm LPP SoC.

Earlier Samsung claimed that the 8nm chipset is ready to enter production with recently launched the Exynos 9810 which are built on 10nm LPP process at the new factory S3 in South Korea.But now Samsung has released an official statement that 7nm FinFET process with EUV will not be launched this year.The new 7nm FinFET process with EUV chipset is also been manufactured at same plant with S3.

So with this statement, we can expect that Samsung will instead push the 8nm built chipset later this year.So sadly, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might probably come with Exynos 9810 or the new 8nm chipset.With TSMC manufacturing the 7nm chipset forApple A12 SoC upcoming Apple iPhones, Samsung is still far behind to heat up the competition.

It is also mentioned that Samsung will provide the new 8nm and 11 nm chipset instead of 7nm chipset this year.The industry analyst further claimed that the Samsung 8nm process is the relaxed version of the 7nm process chipset using multiple patterning.The statement means that Samsung starts 7nm process chipset production it will be more powerful chipset when compared with other brands 7nm chipsets and will be equivalent to upcoming 8nm process in terms of performance.

Samsung upcoming 7nm process will have an additional advantage as it will come with Samsung’s EUV lithography over the TSMC 7nm process SoC.Which might be the reason Apple might return to Samsung for their future SoC.Anyway, Samsung new 8nm SoC will now be equivalent to TSMC 7nm processor as per the new rumours.

New Sony Xperia smartphone with 5 inches display passes through FCC, probably the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.

Sony is on fire after introducing three new devices under budget to the mid-range segment at CES 2018, now Sony is planning to unveil their higher end segment devices at MWC 2018.

Earlier we had got series of leaks about the next flagship with Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro and the Sony Xperia XZ2 which are rumoured to be launching at MWC 2018. Now we have spotted a new Sony device with a smaller screen size at FCC certification in the US.It is rumoured to be the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.

As per FCC documents, the alleged Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact will sport 5 inches display.It is having a dimension of 135*65 mm.As per the FCC certification, the device got an ID number PY7-24118Q and is completely different from what we saw on last leaks with a device having no 3.5 mm audio jack.The device has already passed the FCC certification in the US.

As per rumours, the alleged Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact will feature 18:9 aspect ratio display.It will be powered by SD845 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.It will have a 19MP rear camera and 8MP selfie camera.It will be fueled by 3000 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0.The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is rumoured to be priced at 4999 Yuan (Rs.50,500/-) in China.

Alleged Alcatel 5 renders and specs leaked online.

Alcatel announced the new Alcatel 5, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 1X at CES 2018 but didn’t reveal the specs of the device.Now WinFuture has leaked some of the key specs including the device renders of the Alcatel 5.

As per the leaked images, we can see the Alcatel 5 having thicker top bezels with thinner bezels on the sides and slightly thicker bezels at the bottom of the display.On the back, we have the single camera module with Dual LED flash and fingerprint sensor below it.From the leaked renders, we can expect that the device is built out of brushed metal.

Alcatel 5 will be available in two colour with Black and Gold.At the front, we have Dual camera setup with the primary sensor of 13MP with 5P lens and having an aperture of f/2.0 and secondary sensor of 5MP with an aperture of f/2.0 and 120 degrees wide angle lens.At the back, we have the 12MP main sensor having an aperture of f/2.0 with Dual LED flash.

Alcatel 5 will sport 5.7 inches HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.It is powered by MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD cards.

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB Type-C port. It will also have Facial recognition system.All this is fueled by 3000 mAh battery and is running on Android Oreo.

Samsung might launch new messaging app Uhssup, patent leaks

Samsung has now filed a new trademark for their new messaging app.Probably after the demise of the popular Samsung messaging app ChatOn Samsung is planning to launch a new app to take on messaging apps like WhatsApp.

Now, Samsung has registered trademarks with EUIPO for the name Uhssup. The European Union Intellectual Property Organisation further claims that it is a mobile application.As of now, the proposed trademark is still under approval and if approved Samsung might launch the app anytime soon.

The website also mentions some of the key features of the messaging app like the Uhssup trademark are for Social interaction, computer software for transmitting, searching, Geolocation services, receiving, storing, accessing, finding, and organising.The main function of the app is to connect people based on geolocation.Samsung rumoured app Uhssup might be exclusive to only Samsung Galaxy devices.

OnePlus latest flagship killer OnePlus 5T is now receiving the much awaited Android Oreo update.OnePlus 5T was under Beta testing and now it is officially getting the new Android Oreo update.

The OnePlus 5T is now getting the latest Oxygen OS 5.2.0 with Android Oreo update. The new update brings New Launcher with version 2.2, new Gallery app v2.0, weather app 1.9 and file manager v1.7.6.

Other changes include all-new design for quick settings and fixes some of the bugs with an applied security patch for CPU. As of now, the new Android Oreo update is rolling out in a phased manner so basically, it will take time to hit the update on your OnePlus 5T.

Google Station goes beyond railways to smart cities , 150 Google Station hotspots go live in Pune.

After getting millions of Indians online, with its RailTel Wi-Fi project — Google today announced its partnership with Larsen & Toubro, to bring 150 Google Station hotspots to Pune, as part of Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited’s Smart City project.

After successfully benefiting 7.7 million users at over 270 Railway Station through its RailTel Wi-Fi project, Google for the first time is deploying Google Station outside of the railways. Potentially, 3 million Punekars can now get online within seconds, to message friends, pay bills, shop online, watch music videos — and do millions of other things — at locations all around the city.

Vinay Goel, Product Management Director, Google Station said, “Today marks a big step for us as we expand Google Station hotspots from railways to cities. Our aim with Google Station is to ring fast Wi-Fi to more users in more places within India. We built Google Station to be both the highest-quality and easiest Wi-Fi service for users and the easiest for partners to deploy — and we think this makes Station a great connectivity partner for the growing number of Indian smart cities. We’re looking forward to helping people in Pune get fast, simple and secure access to everything the internet has to offer.”

Public Wi-Fi alone, does not make a city “smart” and therefore with reliable Internet connectivity across multiple central locations, people can now use their smartphones to make the most out of Pune’s other smart city services, which includes improved tracking of public buses, opportunities for digital learning, and participation in digital governance. Google hotspots will be available at public places like gardens, hospitals and police stations, helping people get access to free Wi-Fi.

ASUS teases the MWC 2018 event details, Asus Zenfone 5 series to be unveiled.

After Samsung, LG Sony, and Xiaomi we have the one more new addition to Asus. Yes, Asus has now shared the schedule at MWC 2018.Asus will hold an event on Feb 27 at 7:30 PM CST.Asus CEO Jerry Chen and Asus GM Bryan Chang to be part of the event.

As per the teaser, we can see the image of number 5 which gives us hint that Asus might probably announce the Asus Zenfone 5 series at the MWC 2018.Earlier we had spotted the Asus Zenfone 5 Lite at Russian certification and also recently Asus Zenfone 5 Max has also passed through Wifi certification.

We can even expect that Asus might even launch some high-end line up under Asus Zenfone series at the event. For more details regarding the products, we have to wait for Feb 27.

Upcoming Apple iOS to focus on performance and quality, will have less new features

Apple launched the iOS 11 along with iPhone X and iPhone 8 & 8 Plus in the month of Sept last year. The iOS 11 had lots of bugs and even had performance issues which Apple had to fix with consistent updates. As per the new reports from Axios, Apple is likely to delay some of the new features for the upcoming 2018 edition of iOS or iOS 12 to next year.

As per the report, Apple will delay the new feature to put more focus on performance and quality issues.The new features which are rumoured to come with Apple iOS 12 like photo editing, enhanced Apple apps, redesign of Home screen, better picture taking will not make its way on this year iOS update and probably delayed to next year.

As per the report, Apple will provide iOS users with a better user experience with better performance as Apple Software head Craig Fedrighi has already announced the same to their employees in a meeting held this month. It doesn’t mean that Apple will not add new features, it will bring some of the new features like AR enhancement, parental controls and digital health services.

Nokia 3310 with 4G LTE and VoLTE support launched in China.

Earlier we had got few renders with specs of the feature phone from Nokia 3310 with 4G capabilities on TENAA.Now, the Nokia 3310 with 4G LTE is officially launched in China today.Sadly, Nokia has not mentioned the pricing and availability of the Nokia 3310 4G LTE.The Nokia 3310 with 4G LTE will go on sale in China early next month.

Nokia latest feature phone with Nokia 3310 with 4G LTE looks similar to last year launched Nokia 3310 which was 2.5G feature phone launched at MWC 2017.All the specs of the device remain same as the Nokia 3310 both 3G and 2G variants.The only change is the new Nokia 3310 will now support higher data speeds as it now supports 4G LTE.It weighs 88 grams.

Nokia 3310 4G sports 2.4 inches display with a resolution of 320*240p.The device is having a 2MP rear camera with LED flash.The connectivity option includes Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, Wifi hotspot, micro USB, FM Radio, and 3.5 mm audio port.It is running on YunOS and fueled by 1200 mAh battery.The Nokia 3310 4G is having 256 MB RAM and 512MB internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card slot up to 64GB.

Nokia 3310 4G is made out of plastic and is 13mm thick.Nokia has officially not released any statement about the Nokia 3310 yet but it is live on Nokia China website.Nokia 3310 4G LTE will even hit International markets like US, Europe and even India in coming weeks and probably Nokia might launch the Global version of Nokia 3310 4G at MWC 2018.Nokia 3310 4G will be available in two colours with Fresh blue and dark black.
