The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 were sketched a while back, but now new, much more detailed images have been discovered in One UI 8.5’s code, along with details on new features.

You may be happy or sad, depending on how you feel about the stems. Even though stems will still be a part of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro, they are here to stay. Despite this, the stems will be flattened, moving away from the triangular shape of Buds 3. There are no “Blade Lights” to be seen.

In addition, the charging case has been redesigned so that the buds lie flat while charging. Besides the USB-C port on the back, the phone has a button that triggers the Find Your Phone feature (it makes a sound to help you find it). On the other side of the charging port, there appears to be a loudspeaker grille, so the charging case could also make noise.

You can nod or shake your head to trigger specific actions: respond to calls or notifications, read notifications aloud (and pause reading), dismiss alarms and timers, and more. Your phone’s AI assistant lets you answer “yes or no” questions with a nod or a shake.

Stems will serve as hardware controls that can be squeezed and swiped. Additionally, the Buds 4 come with Adaptive Noise Control, 360° audio recording, and fast pairing. It will have a slightly larger battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro will likely be unveiled along with the Galaxy S26 generation in late January and launched in early February.
