In China, Vivo will launch the S50 and S50 Pro Mini in December. Tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed the compact model’s specs ahead of its launch.
According to DCS, the S50 Pro Mini will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Qualcomm has not yet officially announced the chipset, but it is expected to debut on the OnePlus Ace 6T soon. It appears that Vivo will follow closely behind.
The S50 Pro Mini features a 6.3-inch flat display, which puts it in the same size class as Apple’s iPhone Air. It apparently packs a massive 6,500 mAh battery, despite being the “Mini” in the lineup. That’s more than most full-size flagships can do.
The phone is also said to have a horizontal camera bar similar to the iPhone Air. According to reports, Vivo uses a Sony IMX9-series primary sensor and a Sony IMX882 periscope lens inside that bar.
An ultrasonic fingerprint reader and “full-level” water resistance are also rumored specs, which likely means IP68 or IP69. DCS added that both S50 models will have metal frames and periscope cameras.
With LPDDR5X RAM rated at 9600Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage, Vivo’s entire S50 lineup will also deliver flagship-tier performance.
Meanwhile, the regular Vivo S50 will have a 6.59-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is also possible that both phones will support fast charging at 90W.
