For the past few years, Samsung has come under heavy fire for not bringing significant improvements to its flagship series. But according to a recent report, which we should treat with caution, all Galaxy S26 phones will receive significant improvements to their screens, cameras, and batteries.
Galaxy S26 Ultra:
First, let’s talk about the Ultra. It is thought to have the same 6.9-inch diagonal but an upgraded M14 OLED panel with some AI privacy features. It’s most likely the AI privacy feature that was detailed in a previous leak. According to reports, the resolutions of the main, ultrawide, and 5x telephoto cameras will remain at 200MP, 50MP, and 50MP, respectively; however, the central and ultrawide units will be enhanced.
However, there is still some confusion about the 3x telephoto camera, as the leaker is unsure whether the smartphone will use a 50MP shooter, a larger 12MP unit, or the same 12MP sensor as before.
Although the battery has not yet been confirmed, reports indicate that it will have a 5,400 mAh cell.
Galaxy S26/S26+
In contrast, the Galaxy S26+ is likely to receive a more significant camera update, with a larger 1/1.3″ primary sensor (up from 1/1.56″), a larger 1/1.3″ ultrawide unit (up to 50MP), and a larger 12MP, 1/2.55″ telephoto shooter in place of the 10MP one. We think the S26+ will use the telephoto and ultrawide cameras from the current Galaxy S25 Ultra, even though the source doesn’t explicitly say so.
Based on all those facts, Samsung is likely to stop making the Edge and hasn’t given up on the Plus model.
According to reports, the regular Galaxy S26 will get the same camera enhancements as the S26 Plus, along with a little increase in battery capacity to 4,200 or 4,300 mAh.
It’s interesting to note that the article mentions a thinner Galaxy S26 model that will sit between the S26 and S26 Plus in terms of size, with fewer compromises than the original Edge.
According to rumours, the display will be 6.6″ diagonal, with a 50MP primary camera that will be complemented by 50MP telephoto and ultrawide sensors. The battery’s rated capacity is around 4,300 mAh.
Depending on the region, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Exynos 2600 will power all three, or all four if you include the as-yet-unknown small Galaxy S26 phone.
Although the source of the information is unknown, it provides a surprisingly detailed description of the lineup, suggesting that an internal source may be involved. We are still on guard, though, because recent speculation about the Galaxy S26 Edge and S26 Plus has been incredibly conflicting and unclear.
