Google and Cashify, a well-known re-commerce site in India, have partnered to bring certified refurbished Pixel smartphones to the Indian market. Through this collaboration, Cashify’s platform and distribution network are combined with Google’s technologies.
According to a Redseer analysis, the partnership is seen as a step forward for India’s reconditioned smartphone sector, which is expected to grow to a $10 billion valuation by 2026. Cashify has been named Google’s approved partner for these devices.
Every refurbished Pixel phone goes through quality inspections and is updated with Google-approved parts. These gadgets come with a one-year guarantee for consumers. Starting today, September 3, the reconditioned Pixel smartphones will be sold on the Cashify website and app as well as at a few Cashify retail stores.
The collaboration is in line with consumers’ growing desire for reasonably priced, environmentally friendly technologies. By prolonging the life of equipment, the partnership also helps to decrease electronic waste, which is in line with a larger industry movement toward circular economies.
The goal of the project is to set a benchmark for accessibility and quality in the market for reconditioned technology.
