Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed a new indication that suggests Xiaomi’s next flagship, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, may launch sooner than anticipated.
Lu Weibing, the president of Xiaomi Group, provided the first formal preview of the incoming flagship in a post on Friday, calling it “a new height of mobile imaging.” Digital Chat Station, a trustworthy source, has now hinted that the phone’s release date may have been accelerated. The gadget could make its debut before the end of the year rather than after the Spring Festival.
That is a significant change. Xiaomi’s Ultra-branded phones often go on sale following the holiday. This time, however, the business is keen to showcase the projects it has been working on with Leica, whose collaboration is growing.
Regarding specifications, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be used by the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. It should come as no surprise that the majority of Android flagships this cycle use this processor. In contrast to prior flagship phones with curved screens, the phone is also anticipated to have a flat display, marking a significant shift in design language.
Three new models:
Xiaomi appears to be developing two spinoffs, the Xiaomi 16S Ultra and the Xiaomi 16 Ultra Max, in addition to the standard Ultra. The two phones, 25128PNA1C and 25128PNA1G, respectively, are listed in the GSMA IMEI certification.
Xiaomi’s proprietary XRING processor is rumoured to be included in the 16S Ultra, while the 16 Ultra Max may consist of the line’s premium camera gear.
For its phones, Xiaomi is also testing a modular optical system. Xiaomi initially revealed it on a Xiaomi 15 concept, which had an f/1.4 aperture, an aspherical lens group, and a customised M4/3 sensor.
With Xiaomi’s AISP (Artificial Intelligence Smart Photography), this modular system enables lossless RAW picture capture, 10Gbps optical communication, and an incredible 16-stop dynamic range driven by on-device AI. The 16 Ultra Max has the potential to become the most ambitious Xiaomi phone ever produced if it incorporates this configuration into a retail device.
