According to several reports, the Xiaomi 16 series flagship phones are expected to launch by the end of September. The Xiaomi 14 and 15 series have three models: standard, pro, and Ultra. However, according to a recent leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, up to four models could be in the 16 series.

DCS claims that the Xiaomi 16 Pro series will have two display sizes: 6.3 inches and 6.8 inches. According to reports, both models have a sizable horizontal matrix-style camera module that takes up almost one-third of the rear panel.

It should be mentioned that Xiaomi is launching a smaller Pro model in the number series for the first time. The standard Xiaomi 16 is also anticipated to have a 6.3-inch screen, and the full series may include the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini (tentative name), and Xiaomi 16 Ultra.

Both Pro models are expected to include a periscope telephoto lens for better photography. The Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, also known as the Ultra version, might have a secondary display on the back that resembles the Xiaomi Mi 11.

Design:

According to leaks regarding the Xiaomi 16 Pro’s new “big matrix” camera design, the tipster’s image displays camera lens protectors with broad, horizontally aligned layouts. A periscope telephoto lens cutout is suggested, and several variations allude to two Pro sizes (6.3 and 6.8 inches).

The protectors visually support the leak’s assertion that Xiaomi is implementing a daring new camera module design for its upcoming flagship lineup. Despite being new, the design bears a resemblance to the recently leaked horizontal camera arrangement for the iPhone 17 series.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is set to debut in September of this year, is expected to power the entire Xiaomi 16 series.
