Xiaomi is preparing to revolutionise its software experience once more. According to a recent leak, HyperOS 3 (or possibly HyperOS 26) will see significant changes, including a visually striking new design modelled after Apple’s “Liquid Glass” interface.
Digital Chat Station, a trustworthy tipster, leaked the information after discussing the redesign on Weibo. The Xiaomi 16 series, anticipated to launch in October 2025 alongside HyperOS 3, is said to incorporate glossy icons and smooth, frosted blur effects, emulating Apple’s iOS 16 but with Xiaomi’s own unique twist.
Xiaomi seems to be emphasising readability and subtle depth over iOS’s dazzling lighting dynamics. Improved consistency across system apps, a redesigned Control Centre, and new icon styling are all features of HyperOS 3.
The goal of the Liquid Glass-inspired tweak is to give Android a more upscale appearance. Through its launcher surveys, the company has been testing minor changes, such as a redesign of the home screen with a transparent search bar that resembles glass. The update also includes minor but welcome changes, such as smoother animations and updated battery and Wi-Fi icons.

Xiaomi appears to be aiming for a more upscale aesthetic experience with this redesign, all the while preserving the customisation choices that its customers adore.
