Apple’s long-rumored first foldable, widely called the iPhone Fold, is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series this September, and new case mold images from leaker Sonny Dickson show how it compares in size.

The moulds reveal a shorter but wider device than the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, matching earlier reports that Apple is aiming for a more tablet-like experience rather than a tall, narrow foldable. On the back, the Fold carries a dual-camera setup on a raised island similar to the iPhone Air, with rumours pointing to two 48 MP sensors (wide and ultrawide).
The external display is expected to be around 5.5 inches, while the internal foldable screen should measure about 7.76 inches, both wider than what we’ve seen on current foldables. The software experience is said to lean toward an iPad-style UI, emphasising side-by-side apps and multitasking.
On the production side, Foxconn has reportedly begun trial runs in China, but a Nikkei Asia report claims Apple is facing engineering setbacks. Suppliers have allegedly been told that component production may be delayed, potentially pushing the Fold’s launch back by several months.
