Oppo may be preparing a flagship phone with a much larger battery than most current high-end devices. A leak from a Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station, claims the company has begun trial production of a dual-cell battery pack with a typical capacity of around 8,500mAh. The design reportedly uses two 4,190mAh cells for a combined rated capacity of 8,380mAh, marketed as roughly 8,500mAh, and supports 100W fast charging without significant throttling.
While the exact model hasn’t been confirmed, the details strongly suggest this setup could appear in the upcoming Oppo Find X10 series, likely on a premium variant. That would be a step up from the already large batteries in the Find X9 lineup, which are rumoured to exceed 7,000mAh. Other leaks hint that the Find X10 range could feature dual 200MP cameras and a next-generation chipset in the Dimensity 9600 class, making a huge battery a logical pairing.
There’s also a chance this new pack could end up in a future OnePlus flagship instead, though separate reports indicate OnePlus is testing even bigger batteries, possibly near 9,000mAh with 120W charging. More broadly, Chinese brands like Honor, Xiaomi, and Vivo have been rapidly pushing battery tech with higher-capacity silicon-carbon cells as simple efficiency tweaks no longer deliver major gains in real-world endurance.
For now, Oppo’s new battery is only in the trial phase, and there’s no guarantee it will ship in a final product. With the Find X10 series expected in late 2026, the company still has room to refine or even change course. If the leak proves accurate, however, Oppo’s next flagship could emerge as one of the strongest options for users who are tired of plugging in every night and want truly long-lasting battery life.
